Hi Mitch, the reason that I had contacted you was because of the Micro II unit I had purchased. My therapist told me that this was not the unit I needed and that I should return it for a regular TENS unit. You were so kind when I spoke to you. You took the time to explain how to use the unit and placement of electrodes and stated that the microcurrent unit would work much better for my pain than a TENS unit. You were so sure that you told me to try it out, if it did not work as you stated you would refund my money and give me a free TENS at no cost. My therapist loaned me a tens unit to use, after about 3 weeks with little progress. I decided to use the microcurrent unit for the pain that I was having. The pain was so intense at night that I was taking heavy pain killers and sleeping pills to try to sleep. I have suffered daily from chronic neck/upper back pain for 2 1/2 years, due to thoracic spine damage and a straight neck (w/ no natural curve) many days getting minimal relief even from the Percocet & oxycontin I have been prescribed. Every day by 2 or 3:00, I would wonder how I would make it to bedtime-I have 3 young children 7, 6 & 4, and I work from home for our family owned/operated business. The pain was ruling my life. I would like to take a moment to thank TENS System and to let others know about my heath issues and the purchase of my Ultrasound. Before the purchase of my Ultrasound from TENS System at a great price I might add, my life was miserable the pain I experienced in my neck was unbearable. I had surgery 5 years ago from a ruptured disc in my neck which left me with severe spammed muscles in my neck and shoulders. My Neurologist told me that my muscles were damaged to the point that they would never relax. My Pain Specialist told me that I would be on medication all my life. One Thanksgiving after cooking a dinner I was unable to walk because of the pain generated in my upper back and shoulders. All I could do was sit in a recliner. My Name is Melinda and I am true believer in TENS System. I had suffered for many years with a large knot on the top of my left shoulder with great pain. I purchased the IF 4000 from TENS System and they delivered it, as promised, within 4 working days to CANADA! To make sure that we chose the correct settings for her we took the unit into the therapist and asked if they would choose the settings. They asked if they might keep the unit for a few hours to evaluate, as there was more than one therapist who was interested in seeing it. When we returned later that day they said the unit had all the features of their office models and was as good as any one they had at the treatment centre. In fact they asked where were got it as one of the staff was interested in getting one himself. We referred him to TENS System. We have used the unit for a number of months now and it has certainly helped both in relieving pain and in cutting down on the frequency of visits for which we had to pay. I had the misfortune of a complete tear of my ACL and lateral meniscus while simply getting on an elevator at work. I am now an "organ donor recipient", as someone who thought enough to donate their tissues provided an Achilles tendon that would become my new ACL. After weeks and weeks of rehab, my quadricepses were finally almost the same size again (the left one began to atrophy immediately after the injury). I received stimulation therapy at my PT appointments, but of course had no access to this after I was released from care. One year later, I have developed adult onset asthma and there are many days my reactive airways will not allow me to exercise. If my quad is not worked every day I have terrible knee pain and the muscle starts to atrophy immediately. My unit purchased through TENS System has been a lifesaver. On days when I am wheezing, stimulation works my quad without my becoming short of breath. If my knee aches I can adjust the settings to get more pain relief than with any drug, and can still care for my four children without being incapacitated by narcotics. TENS System actually may have saved my job. My neck pain would cause severe headaches and arm pain. I was on daily prescription pain medication for it. I was in danger of losing my job from missed work. I am a single Mom so sleeping through the pain is not really an option. My doctor suggested a tens unit to help control the pain because I was having a hard time with the med (they were starting to cause stomach problems, among other health issues). So I finally agreed to try one and he wrote out the script. I searched several medical supply stores in the area and was amazed at the prices. My health insurance would not cover the device. Back in 1996 I had major back surgery due to 3 herniated disks. I went through all sorts of physical therapy, chiropractors, acupuncture, traction, etc. but nothing seemed to help. I ended up getting surgery, and after 6 months of healing and physical therapy, I was as good as I was going to get. I still deal with pain on a daily basis. My lower back still hurts, I get numbness down my left leg and foot and it's just something I've learned to live with over the years. Many places easily wanted 3-4 hundred dollars for their cheapest models AND they needed a prescription from a Doctor saying you need this device. I came on to Medical Products and found this 3000 Unit for next to nothing. It looked almost identical to the unit I had purchased years ago and had almost all of the same features. I just couldn't believe they were selling a unit like this for well under 100 dollars. I figured I'd give it a try as I had nothing to lose. My unit arrived 3 days after I purchased it. Brand new still in the box with all the instructions AND a battery. (plus it came with a handy carrying case, something my first TENS unit didn't have. I tried it out immediately and was in heaven. I had finally found a replacement for my 700 dollar TENS unit, and for less than 100 bucks no less!! If anyone is looking for a great TENS Unit and needs a solution for moderate to severe back pain, the TENS System Advanced is the TENS Unit for you! I couldn't be happier or more satisfied, as this unit is well worth its weight in gold! I can promise you, you won't find a better unit ANYWHERE on the web at a better price. Trust me....I looked everywhere! A unit like this should run for hundreds of dollars, and personally I don't see how they could offer this TENS unit for such an incredible price. At the risk of sounding like a spokesperson for an infomercial, I should probably stop now. I'm not getting paid in any way to give this type of review. I'm just a 40 y/o man who's lived with severe back pain for over 10 years, and have found something that works for myself you're looking for a GREAT TENS Unit at a GREAT price, look no further! I found the information you sent very helpful. I appreciate the recommendation that I use the MENS unit as opposed to the Interferential unit.
