The Tens System 8000 is a dual channel Digital TENS and Muscle Stimulator System with Five modes of TENS operation and Two Modes of Muscle Stimulator Operation. It is a battery operated Muscle Stimulator Unit that sends electrical impulses to the body to reach the nerves causing pain. The device is provided with two controllable output channels, each independent of each other. An electrode pair is connected to each output channel to transmit the electrical impulses to the area of pain.

The TENS operating modes include:
• Burst (B)
• Normal (N)
• Modulation (M)
• Strength Duration 1 (SD1)
• Strength Duration 2 (SD2)

The Muscle Stimulator operating modes include
• Synchronous
• Alternate

The Tens System 8000 includes a patient compliance meter to track treatment, and a battery indicator.

The Tens System 8000 includes a timer so that you can easily set the treatment time. The electronics of the Tens System 8000 create electrical impulses whose intensity, duration, number per second, modulation, pulse width, pulse rate, contraction, relaxation and ramp may be altered with easy to use digital controls. The cover prevents accidental changes in the settings.

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) is a non-invasive, drug-free method of controlling pain. TENS uses tiny electrical impulses sent through the skin to nerves to modify your pain perception. TENS does not cure any physiological problem; it only helps control the pain. TENS does not work for everyone; however, in most patients it is effective in reducing or eliminating the pain, allowing for a return to normal activity.

The TENS unit works by sending comfortable impulses through the skin to stimulate the nerves in the treatment area. In many cases, this stimulation will greatly reduce or eliminate the pain sensation the patient feels. Pain relief varies by the individual patient, mode selected for therapy, and the type of pain. In many patients, the reduction or elimination of pain lasts longer than the actual period of stimulation. In others, the pain level is only modified.

Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) is an internationally accepted and proven way of treating muscle injuries. It works by sending electronic pulses to the muscle needing treatment. The pulses cause the muscle to exercise passively.

EMS uses a square wave pattern to work directly on the muscle motor neurons. The use of a low frequency in conjunction with the square wave pattern allows direct work on the muscle groupings. EMS has been widely used for the treatment of muscular injuries and for the re-education of muscles, to prevent atrophy in affected muscles, and to improve muscle tone and blood circulation.
The EMS sends comfortable impulses through the skin to stimulate the nerves in the treatment area. When the muscle receives this signal it contracts as if the brain had sent the signal. As the signal strength increases, the muscle flexes as in physical exercise. Then, when the pulse stops, the muscle relaxes and the cycle starts over again. The cycle of stimulation, contraction and relaxation is the power of the EMS.

I love this machine. Its amazing that for such a small device has so much power. I leave mine set on about level 3 out of 10. I have been going to the chiropractor for back problems for a few months now,and this is the same type of therapy that he uses. This thing is great! I was in a car accident several years ago that screwed up my back and neck. I just discovered this machine as an option to help some of the discomfort I still experience. It is really powerful. I can’t take more than a 4. I suggest before you plug yourself in you check your dial. I played with it a bit the first day I got it and 4-5 setting was more than enough. Anything more and I thought I’d bounce off the ceiling. Try this product. It feels amazing,and for the price,you can avoid so many needless co-pays going to the physical therapist.

I had a unit that was supplied to me by physical Therapy,but the cost was unreal,$3000.00 and I was turned down from the insurance because of either the cost or a contract in place,so went with someone else to try and get one that way but it was taking way to long and I needed the unit now not later,so I found this unit here and it is better than the unit provided by my insurance,you will not be disappointed by either TENS or E-Stem.
